Now it's up to you which you personally want to experience the journey of Naruto through. And that's why the Naruto anime has such an incredibly high amount of filler.
For a while, Pierrot was catching up to the manga releases, meaning they had no new material to adapt for next weeks episode. Now, these differences are gathered between Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden, which was "technically" a new iteration of the franchise that took place a couple years later. But, no company is perfect, and the boat that was the Naruto anime began showing some holes. Naruto, on the other hand, was handled by Studio Pierrot, who has made some amazing shows in the past.
One Piece was handled by Toei Animation, who get the job done but make tons of mistakes. All the while, both shows had an anime adaption running alongside them. Naruto managed to stay up there with One Piece up until it came to an end in late 2014. Now eventually, Bleach fell off and was replaced by My Hero Academia. Likewise, many of the Konoha 11 had grown into formidable fighters in their own right as well as having found particular niches for themselves, like Sakura with her medical training.These three shonen franchises were international hits that got their own movies, games, books, and even anime adaptions. This does illustrate how far the series had come, however, with former enemies Gaara and Naruto as well as the Hidden Leaf and Sand ninja as a whole fighting side-by-side. Seimei is quickly killed by Gaara, and everyone goes back to continue their own training and lives.
Though this seemingly promises an extensive, grand battle, it all comes to an astonishingly abrupt end with Seimei's defeat. Seimei becomes the ultimate weapon of the fallen Shitenshounin, doing battle with both Naruto and Gaara, who's transformed into the One-Tailed Shukaku in the midst of his anger. Gaara is then trapped in a sphere by Hoki, who drains his chakra out before sacrificing himself to use the energy and revive his fallen leader Seimei. After Gaara beats another with a spear, he pursues their leader in hopes of finding the taken student. Rock Lee and Naruto save Gaara, with Sakura healing the injured while several of the would-be attackers are taken out by the combined force of Temari, Kankuro, Shikamaru and Kiba's dog Akamaru.
